Can motorcycle exhaust be painted?
You can use several types of paint, just like painting a car. Apply a base coat and then a clear coat. All paint coats should be high temperature paint. A great splurge is high-heat ceramic coating as this provides a great finish.
Can you paint a suppressor?
Without anodization, an aluminum suppressor would degrade much faster under heavy use. Because this film of aluminum oxide is somewhat porous, it can be dyed/ painted various shades.
Can you paint exhaust muffler?

What is Moly resin?
Moly Resin ™ is a thermally cured phenolic coating initially developed for aluminum AR-15/M-16 receivers and stainless steel sound suppressors. Cerakote and Duracoat will adhere to aluminum, steel, and stainless steel, Titanium, Scandium or ‘pot metal’. Previously plated surfaces that are peeling or chipped like nickel, hard chrome must be stripped prior to coating.

Can you use engine paint on exhaust?
Yes, you used the wrong paint for the job. Like said, temp rating is not near high enough for an exhaust mani. If you paint an exhaust mani, you will need the stuff that ~2000F. You will likely have to re spay it every so often if you want to keep it looking good as well.
Can you powder coat exhaust headers?
The only way powdercoating your headers will work is if the curing temp is greater than the operating temp. I doubt any standard powder cures higher than the exhaust temps at the header. I would be more inclined to spray the headers with some high temperature paint and bake it in the oven.
How do you spray paint a pipe?
If you are painting pipes with 360-degree exposure, simply spray a single wet coat of primer on the metal and wait for it to dry, which should take about 10 minutes. When spraying is impractical, brush on a single coat of brushable metal primer with an appropriate paintbrush.
Can I paint my exhaust tips?
Of course, having the exhaust tips pulled and prepped/painted is probably the way to go if you know how or want to get that deep. But, it can be done with careful masking and application of several light coats until you achieve the look you want.
